Rooms that smell right on check-in

A refurbished room off-gasses formaldehyde and VOCs, and a smoked-in or musty one costs you the night. We supply the products housekeeping and projects teams use to turn both around without taking the room out of service for a week.

Why this sector needs it

Hospitality has two air problems and they arrive from opposite directions. A refurbishment drops new casegoods, carpet, headboards and joinery into a sealed room, and all of it off-gasses formaldehyde while the room goes straight back on sale. Then there is the day-to-day: smoke in a non-smoking room, damp in a room that sat closed, cooking smells drifting into a serviced apartment corridor. Both cost you either a guest complaint or a room night. We supply the products housekeeping, engineering and projects teams use on each, in volumes that suit a floor or a whole property.

What you're dealing with

A room out of service is lost revenue

Airing a room out for days is the usual answer to both off-gassing and odour. It is also the expensive one, and it does not actually remove formaldehyde — it just dilutes it while the window is open.

Refurbishments load a sealed room

New wardrobes, headboards, carpet and casegoods go in together, in a room designed to hold conditioned air. Formaldehyde levels climb and stay up for months while guests sleep in it.

Odour is a review problem

Smoke, damp and cooking smells show up in guest reviews faster than almost anything else. Masking with fragrance reads as a cover-up; the smell needs to go.

How we treat it

1

Treat the refurbishment

Apply the Formaldehyde Remover across new casegoods, joinery and wall finishes as the room is handed back from the contractor, before it returns to inventory.

2

Turn the room around

Deodoriser PRO handles smoke, damp and cooking odour on soft furnishings, headboards and leather — 60–80 m² per litre, so one bottle covers several rooms.

3

Run it at property scale

Order in bulk with trade pricing and application guidance, so housekeeping teams work the same way across every floor.

Questions

It is touch dry in about 30 minutes and fully cured in 2–3 hours. Most properties treat during a normal turnaround rather than blocking the room for days.

Deodoriser PRO is formulated for leather, synthetic fabrics and coated furniture. Avoid black or water-sensitive materials and anything prone to staining, and patch-test an unseen area first.

No. It neutralises the VOCs causing the odour rather than masking them. PRO carries a light fragrance, but the odour removal is the chemistry, not the scent.
